There are many different routes up to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Each is unique in its own way but all offer a lifetime memory.
The Kilimanjaro climb 8 days Lemosho is the best for acclimatization. The remote is less used and beautiful way up to the Shira Plateau.The minimum duration for the Lemosho route is 7 days. However, we strongly recommend hiking the route in 8 days.The additional 8th day will give your body more chance to acclimatize, reducing the effects of altitude sickness and give you more time to rest before attempting to the summit.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After all custom formalities you will appear at the arrival area where you will meet Ultra Adventure Safaris driver guide holding a sign board with your booking names in the list. After checking that you have all your luggage and belongings, the driver will take you with your group and transfer to the Hotel.
Day 2: Acclimatization day at Arusha. This day is designed for your trip briefing and gear check and also recovering from Jet Lag. The Guide will check your gears in the morning after breakfast to make sure you all have proper and all the climbing equipment needed. After lunch you will have time to visit Arusha town with visit to a local market on walking from your Hotel or you can use Vehicles. Day 3: Drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Lemosho Gate, Hike to Forest Camp
After breakfast, drive to Lemosho Park Gate (3-hour drive). From here 4WD vehicle leads will pick you to Lemosho Glades. Walk along forest trails to Mti Mkubwa (big tree) the Forest campsite.

From Moir camp across Shira Plateau we continue to the east up a ridge. We will be hiking on the right side of the Kibo Peak. As we continue, our direction changes to the South East towards the Lava Tower elevation 4650m/15,250ft where at this point most of the hikers stop for lunch and more acclimatization and Shortly after the tower we come to the second junction, which goes to the Arrow Glacier and we are now continuing on the right down to the Barranco Camp.
Although you end the day around the same elevation, as when you began, this day is very important for acclimatization and will help your body to prepare itself for summit day.

Very early in the morning, we will continue our way to the summit between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. You head in a northwesterly direction and ascend through heavy scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim.
This is the most challenging portion of the trek. At Stella Point you will have a short rest and rewarded most magnificent sunrise ever seen. From Stella Point, you may encounter snow all the way on your 1-hour ascent to the summit (Uhuru Peak) highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro.
From the summit we begin to descent by continuing straight down to the Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch. You may want gaiters and trekking poles for the loose gravel going down. We arrive at Mweka Camp and enjoy our last evening on the mountain.

Fabulous vistas of Kilimanjaro Mawenzi and Kibo peaks are an added advantage of Coca-Cola Route! Marangu Route offers 6 and 5-day itineraries, the latter being the way to go for experienced trekkers.
The 8days Marangu Route itinerary with its longer acclimatization is preferable if this is to be your first climb. Those who climb Kilimanjaro on Marangu can look forward to a trek that covers the distance of 64 km (40 miles) with comfortable conditions resulting in a 92% success rate for the longer program.

We depart from Arusha to Marangu Gate for the necessary formalities before beginning our trek. The hiking trail begins by ascending a beautiful, tropical rain forest. At the upper edge of the forest line, we have the opportunity to see blue monkeys. The trail then widens to expose beautiful hillsides until we reach Mandara Hut.
This will be your first day at this altitude, so it is strongly recommended you heed the following instructions from this point on:
Abstain from consuming alcohol and caffeine
Drink over 4 liters of bottled water daily (little by little, frequently)
Take a Diamox pill to help alleviate symptoms of altitude sickness due to your doctor prescription. Most mountain climbers take Diamox in the morning, before they start their ascent, in order to reduce discomfort associated with altitude sickness. We recommend you consult your doctor prior to the trip in case of potential allergies (be aware Diamox is sulfuric pills in case of allergy.
At night you may experience discomfort associated with acclimatization to the high altitude: because of a reduction in your waking breathing pattern, your body gets less oxygen than during the day. Taking altitude into account, you may therefore start feeling sick and have a headache. Pay attention to your own body and tell your guide if you start feeling any symptoms of altitude sickness.
Day 4: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

We will start the day by continuing through the forest until the trail opens into high moorland. We may get our first views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks – two of the three volcanic peaks that make up the summit of Kilimanjaro.
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Zebra rocks
Elevation (ft): 12,205 ft to 14,400 ft
Distance: 5 km/3 miles
Hiking Time: 2-3 hours

This is an extra day meant for acclimatization and can be spent day hiking on Mawenzi Ridge. The unique landscape offers motivating views of Kibo and Mawenzi. After spending a few moments exploring the area we head back to Horombo Hut.
Day 6: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Elevation (ft): 12,205 ft to 15,430 ft
Distance: 10 km/6 miles

We climb gradually, then cross the lunar desert of the “Saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo. Our camp, Kibo Hut, sits at the bottom of the Kibo crater wall. Once here we rest, enjoy an early dinner to prepare for the summit day.
Day 7: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak
Elevation (ft): 15,430 ft to 19,341 ft

Very early in the morning, we begin our push to the summit. This is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. The wind and cold at this elevation and time of day can be extreme. We ascend in the darkness for several hours while taking frequent, but short, break. At Gilman’s point (18,600 ft), you will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see coming over Mawenzi Peak. Finally, we arrive at Uhuru Peak- the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa.
After spending a few moments taking in the plains of Africa and your accomplishment, we descend to Horombo Hut. Later in the evening, we enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and a well-earned sleep.
Day 8: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

If Marangu is the “Coca Cola” route, then the Machame Route is the “Whiskey” route. It is the second most popular and one of the most scenic routes on the mountain. It is done over 7 days, so acclimatization is easier, and the success rate is fairly high.
It is for physically fit people with some hiking experience. Descent is down the Mweka trail staying at the Mweka or Millennium camp for your last night

Drive from Arusha to Machame Gate takes about 1 hr to 45 minutes. The journey passes through the village of Machame, which is located on the lower slopes of the mountain. It will take a short time to registration and the after that we will have lunch before we start our hike. We depart the park gate and walk through the Montane rain forest on a winding trail up the ridge.
At lower elevations the trail can be muddy and slippery. Gaiters and trekking poles are a good idea to have them on. We continue a short distance until we reach the Machame Camp.

Shortly after the tower we come to the second junction which goes up to Arrow Glacier. We now continue down to the Barranco Camp. Although you will end the day around the same elevation, as when you began. This day is very important for acclimatization and will help your body prepare for summit day. Day 5: Hike from Moir Camp to Lava Tower
From Moir camp across Shira Plateau we continue to the east up a ridge. We will be hiking on the right side of the Kibo Peak. As we continue, our direction changes to the South East towards the Lava Tower elevation 4650m/15,250ft where at this point most of the hikers stop for lunch and more acclimatization.On this day is very important for acclimatization and will help your body to prepare itself for summit day. Other hikers will spend their day down to Baranco while us we will stay at the same elevation.

Day 6: Hike from Lava Tower to Arrow Glacier Camp.
After breakfast, we will leave Lava Tower and continue on a steep ridge up to Arrow Glacier camp. Elevation 4,650mts/14800ft to 4800mts/16,000ft.
Distance: 2km/1miles Hiking Time: 2-3 hours Habitat: Alpine Desert Meals: BLD Camping at: Arrow Glacier Camp. This is a very short day to Arrow Glacier Camp where porters will hike ahead to prepare the camp ready for you on arrival. Lunch at Camp and have early dinner and prepare ring for the western Breach hike on the next day that starts very early in the morning around 4:00am to Crater Camp 18,500feet and overnight at Arrow Glacier Camp
Day 7: Hike from Arrow to Crater Camp.
The hike from Arrow camp to the Crater Camp start very early in the morning by waking up at around 4:00am and Breakfast at 4:30am and expect to leave the camp at 5:00am. Hikers will be served with several snakes due to slow hike and we will have our lunch carried by our crew and stop at pop Toll for a light Lunch and then keep hiking slowly all the way to crater camp for a hot lunch.
Here we have a chance to explore the Crater by visiting the Glacier, inner crater(Ash pit). Dinner will be served early so we can get chance to rest waiting for the final push to the summit and down to Mweka hut for the night.
Day 8: Hike from Crater camp to Uhuru Peak descending to Barafu Camp and down to Mweka hut Camp.
This day the hikers will work up early in the morning and to catch up with the sunrise at the top. Wake up time will be around 4:30am and Breakfast will be served at 5:00am and depart from Crater at 5:30am and expect to reach at the summit at around 6:45am. At the summit depending on the weather, hikers will have 15 to 20 minutes for photo taking for their memory. Then we will descend down to Barafu where you will meet your personal porter and reduce the summit gear to the big duffle bag. Lunch will be served at Barafu or Millennium camp depending on the pace of the hikers. The hike from Crater summit to mweka hut camp 3,100mts/10,000ft will be 7 to 8hours. On arrival at Mweka Camp Hot water for washing, Tea, Coffee, Pop Corn, nuts will be served, fresh meals also will be available for dinner and breakfast. Overnight at Mweka Camp 10,000ft.
Day 9: Descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, and drive to Arusha
After breakfast we continue to descent down to the Mweka Park Gate and lunch served 5miniuts drive from the gate. It can be wet and muddy during rainy season. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). A vehicle will pick you at Mweka Gate to drive you back to your hotel in Arusha (about 2-3hrs). Mount Meru in Tanzania is one of Africa’s most beautiful volcanoes, and it is the second highest mountain in Tanzania at 4,5685m, the fifth highest in Africa.
The mountain is located within Arusha National Park, Tanzania. This prime location gives walkers the opportunity to spot some of the birds and wildlife that inhabit the area. The ascend is quite steep, the route to the summit passes over streams, through parkland, montane forest, a giant heather zone and moorland. The summit is reached by a narrow hike, barren ridge, which provides stunning views of the Ash Cone lying several thousand feet below the crater.
Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After all custom formalities you will appear at the arrival area where you will meet Ultra Adventure Safaris driver guide holding a sign board with your booking names in the list. After checking that you have all your luggage and belongings, the driver will take you with your group and transfer to the Hotel.
Day 2: Acclimatization day at Arusha. This day is designed for your trip briefing and gear check and also recovering from Jet Lag. The Guide will check your gears in the morning after breakfast to make sure you all have proper and all the climbing equipment needed. After lunch you will have time to visit Arusha town with visit to a local market, coffee tour and or shira day trip 3600mt/11300ft with picnic lunch . Also there is walking from your Hotel or you can use Vehicles. You are back to the Hotel later in the evening for more relaxation or go for a swimming pool for all who will be interested. These are all optional activities which you will choose depending on your schedule.
Day 3: Arusha to Meriakamba Hut (Full board)
We drive from Arusha to Momela Park Gate. After registration at the Gate our walk will begin with full armed ranger escorting us.With luck we can see along the way the wild animals including elephants, zebras, and giraffe. Also monkeys, antelopes, and often elephants along the route.
Dinner and overnight night at Miriakamba Hut.

Day 4: Miriakamba to Saddle Hut (Full board)
The walk from Miriakamba Hut to the saddle below Little Meru is a short day but a steep climb.
The walk will take us slowly along the ridge for a spectacular view of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone.
After hot lunch at Saddle Hut we can make a short climb to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) for superb views just before sunset.

Day 5: Saddle Hut to Summit Day (Full board)
We start early at around 1:30 a.m. for 4 days Mount Meru hike steeply to Rhino Point (3,800 m.) and on to Cobra Point (4350m). We reach the summit (4,566 m) on time for sunrise there is a possibility to see Mount Kilimanjaro above the clouds. The final part of the climb is along a spectacular narrow ridge line between the sheer inner cliffs and the sloping outer wall of the crater.
We take a short rest and brunch at Saddle Hut before continuing the descent to the Miriakamba Hut.

Day 5: Summit to Meriakamba Hut to Momella Gate to Arusha (Full board)
We take a short and fast descent way through open grassland and mixed forest, with possibility of seeing wildlife before reaching Momella Gate in the late morning.
The returning transfer will be waiting at Momella Gate to pick you to Arusha town.
